“Hard to sell?”

“It happened during a store immersion at SM North Edsa.

I was giving queue numbers when a couple approached me with a peculiar problem: ‘We’re on our way to our honeymoon in Pangasinan tonight,’ said the girl. ‘I need a broadband but the store is asking for documents that we don’t have kasi napadaan lang kami.’

I told them about our prepaid pocket wifi, and how easy it was to laod it up and use it for mobile browsing. She then asked: ‘Okay, but do you have stores in Pangasinan?’ to which I said: ‘Yes, in Urdaneta.’

She said: ‘Aba, kabisado mo ah!’ I smiled — I’ve made a good impression. And best of all na-turn ko yung curiosity nila into buying a gadget!

The retail manager was looking at me, nodding in approval. She asked: ‘O ano, gusto mo na lumipat dito?’

My first sell

“It’s fulfilling. Yung query, naging upsell pa. As an ambassador, I want our helpfulness to spread by word of mouth.”

Why do you become a Globe Ambassador?

“My friends keep asking me about our products, services and network. I’m familiar with what we sell, but I wanted to broaden my knowledge so I can answer their questions myself (and don’t have to ask another Ka-Globe).”

What I gained from the program

“I joined because I wanted to know more, and be more confident in answering queries. The program has met all that.

I’ve also gained a lot of friends. Mas lumaki network ko. Hindi lang ako confied sa stores transformation department. I understand our processes better and can actively participate in improving them. For example, we had an immersion in the call center, where I found that there was a disconnect between them and the stores. I suggested: ‘Couldn’t we have an immersion between the two so they can see what is lacking in their processes?'”
